It is among the top ten in the list of largest European companies by revenue. ING Bank is a member in the list of global systemically important banks.

The first assistance to Maldives from ING Bank was received in 2000 for an amount of EUR 1.4 million for acquiring two fish collector vessels. Since then, the Bank has been providing assistance for conducting various projects in Maldives, such as Reclamation and Coastal Works for Construction of GA. Vilingili, and the Dredging and Reclamation work at three islands.
