Government of Maldives has signed a grant agreement with The World Bank Group to conduct the Maldives Clean Environment Project.

The 12.8million grant agreement was signed in a function held at the Ministry on Wednesday by the Minister of Finance, Mohamed Munawar and The World Bank Country Director for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Ms. Idah Pswarayi Riddihough.

Under this project, Island Waste management Centers will be established in all the islands of Mulaku Atoll, Faafu Atoll, Dhaalu Atoll, Thaa Atoll and Laamu Atoll.

Minister of Environment and Energy, Thoriq Ibrahim and other senior officials from both Ministry and World Bank Group attended the ceremony.
