The Ministry of Finance publishes detailed COVID-19 Spending reports on a weekly basis every Monday. This report includes amounts spent on each major expenditure group and the amounts spent by the Government agencies leading the frontline in the COVID-19 pandemic response. Spending figures in the report include committed spending to provide the most accurate and timely information.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, government revenues have decreased and are expected to be much lower than the approved budget for 2020. Since the budget deficit may be higher than the approved amount, financial requirements are consequently increased. COVID-19 Front-line Allowance

Our frontline workers have been critical in the effort of protecting the health of individuals amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This demanding work of doctors, nurses, lab technicians and all frontline workers have been conducted diligently and with great care while bearing unprecedented risk.

As such, the "COVID-19 Frontline Allowance" was introduced to incentivise frontline workers exposed to different levels of risk associated with the Covid-19 health protection efforts.
