Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises, Mr. Hassan Zareer, accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry, met today with the World Bank delegation led by the Division Director for Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, David Sislen, and the Country Manager for Maldives and Sri Lanka, Gevorg Sargsyan.

The meeting focused on further strengthening the longstanding partnership between the Maldives and the World Bank, with discussions covering ongoing and future areas of collaboration. Key topics included advancing mutually beneficial development initiatives, expanding development financing opportunities, supporting private sector growth, enhancing economic resilience, and accelerating the implementation of high-impact projects aligned with the Maldives’ national development priorities.

Minister Zareer expressed appreciation for the World Bank’s continued support and constructive engagement in the Maldives’ development journey.
