ADB President Mr. Takehiko Nakao in Maldives for a 2 day official visit

President of the Asian Development Bank, Mr. Takehiko Nakao has arrived in the Maldives on 25th August 2019 for a two day official visit. He was received by Minister of Finance H.E. Ibrahim Ameer and officials of the Ministry of Finance. Minister Ameer is also the Governor of Maldives to ADB.

During the official visit, President, Mr. Takehiko Nakao will be making a courtesy call on H.E. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, President of the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Ibrahim Ameer, Minister of Finance, and on H.E Mohamed Nasheed, Speaker of the Parliament

The ADB President and delegation will also be visiting Stelco Power Plant, Male' North Harbor, the Fish Market, Thilafushi and Hulhumale'.

In addition to this, ADB delegation will also host a press conference on 26th August 2019 at the President's Office.

On 27th August 2019 a High-level Roundtable Dialogue Among Atoll Countries will be held at Kurumba Maldives. ADB delegation and Ministers from Maldives will participate in Dialogue. The Ministers participating in the dialogue are Minister of Finance Mr. Ibrahim Ameer , Minister of Environment Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan, Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture Ms. Zaha Waheed , Minister of National Planning and Infrastructure Mr. Mohamed Aslam and President’s Office Policy Secretary, Ms. Aminath Shauna..

Minister Ameer will be hosting a dinner to honor the ADB delegation at Kurumba Maldives Resort.

ADB is a significant partner to Maldives in terms of development. The assistance provided by ADB in taking the country to the next steps of development are much appreciated. Hence they are a key contributor to the Maldivian economy.

ADB President will be leaving Maldives on 27th August 2019.
