ADMIN & HUMAN RESOURCES

Introduction

The Administration and Human Resources section of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury (MoFT) is responsible for maintaining all staff records. Currently the MoFT employs 139 members of staff.

The Administration and Human Resources section deals with internal and external staff training and maintains a pool of staff that is highly competent and educated, especially at the middle management level. Ensuring the efficient registration and timely distribution of the daily inflow and outflow of communication within the MoFT is a major function of this section.

Handling all matters relating to staff travel within the country and abroad on MoFT matters and receiving visitors to the Ministry are also among the functions of the section. It also oversees the cleaning and security operations of the Ministry, as well as that of Huravee Building and Ghaazee Building, which are both government owned.

Responsibilities

The Administration and Human Resources section undertakes the following responsibilities, within these five main areas.

General Administration & Personnel Management

  • Handles matters relating to staff leave, attendance, recruitment, job applications and interviews, promotions & other benefits
  • Manages filing & record keeping
  • Handles staff complaints & other needs
  • Co-ordinates with other sections
  • Organises staff meetings, compiles job descriptions & other staff records

Human Resources (HR) & Training

  • Internal & external staff training
  • HR plan
  • Administrative work relevant to staff scholarships
  • Local training

Mail & Delivery

  • Registration of all incoming mail
  • Efficient & timely despatch of all outgoing mail to relevant offices

Travel & PR

  • Handles all matters relating to staff travel within the country and abroad on MoFT matters
  • Other PR functions

Security, Cleaning & Gardening

  • Maintains the security arrangements of the MoFT building, Huravee Building & Ghaazee Building as well as all other buildings managed by the MoFT
  • Conducts the cleaning operations of the above mentioned buildings
